Logicity v1.6 - Crystal Reports 2008

On Friday March 21st, SaberLogic was pleased to announce the availability of Logicity version 1.6.0001 . This newest version of Logicity Crystal Reports viewer now includes compatibility with Crystal Reports 2008.  Click here to read the press release .

The installer has also been updated to allow you to select which Logicity components you would like to install.

If you are a current Logicity Professional v1.5 customer, you can use your current license key to upgrade to version 1.6.

Organize Your End User's Crystal Reports with Logicity Workspace

Do your end users have RPT files and shortcuts littering their desktop? Do you wish there were a better way to organize and manage multiple reports? Logicity Professional has an end-user feature called Logicity Workspace. It is a convenient way to organize and execute Crystal Reports. Instead of having a separate shortcut to each Crystal Report on a user's desktop, a single solution file can be created that provides access to each available report.

Many administrators begin by consolidating their Crystal Reports onto a shared area of the network. Next, they build a Logicity Solution file that includes all of the reports that a particular user needs to execute. They are able to enter a unique name for each report, making it easier for the end user to know exactly what data each report is designed to provide. Before the Logicity Solution file is saved, the “Workspace Mode” is toggled to ON.

When the user runs this new Logicity Solution file, Logicity opens the Solution in Logicity Workspace instead of opening the report in Logicity Desktop. The Workspace window displays a simple list of all of the available reports and the end-user can simply double-click a report in order to run it.

Logicity for Visual Manufacturing

On April 23rd 2008, SaberLogic will be releasing a specialized version of Logicity for users of the Visual Manufacturing ERP system. The release will take place at the Visual Business Solutions user conference in Chicago, Illinois. Logicity for Visual Manufacturing will allow users to execute Crystal Reports from within the Visual Manufacturing menus in much the same way as they would with the native reports. In addition, SaberLogic will be offering pre-developed packs of Crystal Reports that are made to take advantage of the Logicity for Visual Manufacturing integration technology. These reports are designed to pass data from the current open Visual Manufacturing screen as a parameters to the report.
