Hello All,

We recently started rolling out Logicity to systems that have 64bit OS' because the users require more than the standard 4 GB of RAM supported by a 32bit operating system. On these systems, when running reports, they are prompted for a database login. Using the same exact setup on a 32bit system (same ODBC settings, logicity verstion, 0020) it works fine, either Windows7, Windows XP or Windows 2008 Server.

What is happing is, they receive the Databse Login message but no credentials work. The SA password does not work, domain admin password, user password, nothing works at this prompt.

Please assist, as this is starting to become a more pressing issue as time goes on.

Thank you,

Mark

Mark,

I'd bet your issue stems from the fact there are 2 ODBC control panels on 64-bit Windows machines - one for 32-bit applications and one for 64-bit applications. The shortcut in Control Panel is for 64-bit applications I believe and, because Logicity is compiled specifically to be 32-bit, when it looks the the control panel it is not seeing the ODBC entries. Check out this page for some direction on how to fire up the 32-bit ODBC control panel:
