Logicity Crash Accessing Oracle 10g/11 Database 11 Jun 2010 18:35 #629

I have a running application using Crystal 9 to create reports against an Oracle 9i data base. These reports can be viewed by Logicity without problems. I now have to upgrade the database to Oracle 11. I have installed the Oracle 10g client to create the ODBC connection, and this connection tests fine and works with with PL/SQL Developer, Excel and SQLPLUS. However, Logicity keeps crashing when I try to access reports created against this data base. Any thoughts?

Could you try loading up the Oracle 11g client and see if that works for you? I don't know for certain that there is an issue with 10g, but I know 11g works because I use it on my laptop with Logicity currently. We have a 9i database but I had to use 11g for some reason and maybe that was it. If that doesn't do it, you might also want to check that you have a version of the client that matches your CPU platform (i.e. x86, x64). Lastly, try a very simple report (no parameters, single table) and see if that works.

Thanks, installing the 11g client did the trick!
