When executing the RRD, we receive the error as in the below screenshot 'Failed to open the connection'.

1. ODBC connecitons for both system and user DSN have been created.
2. Logicity solution builder is 'run as administrator'
3. Crystal reports works fine when manually executed but not when trying to email, view ,save or print. All of them receive the same error.

Any assistance is highly appreciated.

Thanks.

Hi,

It seems that the database connections and login details are incorrect in the database connection tab of logicity solution builder.

Can you please enter the username and password in the rrd file database connection tab

Thank you,
Madhuri

Hi,

Thanks for your suggestion. I can assure that the connection is correct based on the following checks:
  1. Database Server check: When I ping the name of the server in the cmd line , it pings to the appropriate server which confirms the name is accurate.
  2. Database Name / Username / Password check: The same user credentials are used for ODBC (32/64) connection and I can view the results when I click on .rpt file and therefore I can assure that it is correct as well.

Is there any other specific setting / config I need to be aware of?

Thanks.

Hi,

The issue is fixed.

Under Database Info tab, I removed the database server and database name and entering only user name and password which fixed the issue.

thanks,
Vignesh
