I have several .rpt in a folder
I access each of them .rrd in another folder

I just updated one of the .rpt and went to create a .rrd (using the same folders). and when I try to execute the .rrd, it pops up the error: "invalid report file path".

- if I take the same .rrd and point it at one of the other .rpt, it works fine.
- I did not assign any special permissions to the new .rpt. though it does have subreports, so do most others of those .rpt. can't think of anything special about this report at all.
- I did reinstall logicity to the latest rev.
- there are no preset parameters (all 'ask user').

any thoughts?

Hello,

Did this problem start before you upgraded to the latest version of Logicity? Did it start right after you upgraded?

before. I read posts on the forum that mentioned that fresh installing sometimes zapped the prob so I thought, why not... but no such luck. and I also tried it on another person's PC and got the same

I was getting this same error with a report I had just created. My report did not have any tables defined in the main report, instead it would call several sub reports and the main report only contained header/footer definitions with the subreports in detail sections.

After I selected a dummy table in the main report and created a dummy selection that would return no records, I added a field to a new detail section and it worked fine. No more errors...

I'm using Crystal 2008.

I later found that the SQL selection on the main report must return at least 1 record in a detail section, otherwise Logicity will not generate a report.

Still... in my case the "invalid report file path" error was corrected by inserting a SQL statement in the main report.
